NSBM Green University is the first ever green university in South Asia and sets an example for the whole South Asia by paving the way for environmental sustainability.

Officially established in 2011, our university has been committed to providing high-quality, globally recognized education to meet the growing needs of Sri Lanka’s higher education sector. In 2016, our journey reached a significant milestone with the opening of our state-of-the-art university town in Homagama, located in Colombo Suburbs, which marked a new era for Sri Lankan education. This purpose-built campus is designed to offer a modern, student-friendly environment that supports academic excellence, innovation, and sustainable living.

Operating as a self-financed university, NSBM is renowned for its world-class academic offerings with the intention of providing an opportunity for both national and international students to have a fully-fledged education in Sri Lanka. Our state-of-the-art university offers highly recognized undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered locally or in affiliation with top-ranked foreign universities under five faculties: Business, Computing, Engineering, Science, and Postgraduate Studies.

Today, we’re home to more than 12,000 students reading over 60 degree programmes and a panel of highly qualified lecturers dedicated to nurturing future leaders. Each year, we welcome nearly 3,500 new students to our academic community and take pride in having produced over 20,000 globally competitive graduates who contribute meaningfully to the modern workforce.

Our ultra-modern university complex, constructed with state-of-the-art facilities and amenities amidst the greenery and serenity, provides the perfect setting for high-quality teaching, learning and research. Elevating the green university concept, we envision NSBM Phase II and Phase III developments on lands adjacent to the current premises, aiming to broaden the university’s prospects and facilities.
